Equal Rights Amendment
3D Poster Design
The Equal Rights Amendment was proposed to Congress in 1923. The US House of Representatives accepted the amendment in 1971, with a ratification deadline in 1979. During this time, women were pinned against one another, feminists vs. anti-feminists. The most notable anti-feminist is Phyllis Schlafly.
This three-dimensional poster shows the battle between women happening during this time in the United States. Without unity, feminism did not stand a chance.
Protest signs and the complexity of the time inspired the design. The colors vibrate against one another, making deciphering the message all the more difficult. The stairs, holding a timeline of key dates for the ERA between 1923 and 1979, symbolize the uphill journey feminists took, striving for equality only to be abandoned in the end.
Data Visualization
This project visualizes data from The Trevor Project’s " 2022 National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health”. The selected data set highlights the percentage of LGBTQIA+ Youths, by sexuality, who have either considered or attempted suicide.
